pps Anyone caring to verify this may find it convenient to hurry-up the process to the next fsck.
If showfsck indicates the max count to be 20, then the command tune2fs -C 21 /dev/sda4, or whatever the Ubuntu partition is, will make the fsck come up on the very next boot. FWIW, fsck should only look at drives called-out in /etc/fstab.
