the solution that was posted in the Ubuntu forms for anyone that has the same issue is to right click the icon and go to properties. In the properties dialogue go to the permissions tab and at the bottom there is a tickbox to allow executing file as program tick this and close the dialogue you should now have an icon and be able to open your prism.
