Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub

In my 10.04 installation I tried to test RAID 1 software
functionalities. After I removed one of my two disks (I made tests in a
virtual box machine) I "inserted" a new one and then a synchronized my
raid partitions. All went ok but when I tried to install grub on the new
replaced disk with grub-install command I obtain the following error:

$ grub-install /dev/md0
/usr/sbin/grup-setup: warn: attempting to install GRUB to a partition instead
of the MBR. This is a BAD idea
/usr/sbin/grup-setup: error: embedding is not possibile, but this is required
when the root device is on a RAID array or LVM volume

So the message is clear: when root device is on a RAID array (this is my
case and it is jsut /dev/md0) the above command is right, but nor with
--force command I obtain no errors.

grub version is 1.98-1ubuntu6
