Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-generic

The feisty herd-5 2.6.20(-11,-12...- generic and 386) kernels hang on
boot when they reach setting up usb-hid on a via VB6002 motherboard.
This mini-ITX pentium-M board has a VIA VN800 North Bridge and a
VT8237R series South Bridge. Fiddling with legacy usb support in the
BIOS and other usb related settings has no effect.

The earlier edgy 2.6.17 kernels generated a kernel panic on boot. I was able
to install edgy by installing off-board
then swapping the disk in with a 2.6.20-rc6 kernel which was compiled from the
git repository a few weeks ago.
This _does_ boot under feisty.

** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
