Fortunately, I just got my first update notice for Lucid, so emacs tried (and failed) to install correctly again.
There are four such files in the temp directory. I've attached them all. =michael= -----Original Message----- From: era <era+launchpad....@iki.fi> Reply-to: Bug 581127 <581...@bugs.launchpad.net> To: mich...@vetl.org Subject: [Bug 581127] Re: package emacs23 23.1+1-4ubuntu7 failed to install/upgrade: Date: Wed, 19 May 2010 07:27:07 -0000 Sorry if I was unclear. The file we need is /tmp/emacs22.gYfEz4 (and/or /tmp/emacs22.ch3Q87 from the new term.log you uploaded). Files in /tmp are cleaned out on reboot, so they might not be there any longer. If you don't have these files on your system anymore, a new log file can perhaps be produced by attempting to install emacs23 (and/or emacs22) again. Look at the end of term.log for the error message about failed byte compilation for the precise file name; it will be different each time. Thank you for your patience and understanding. ** Attachment added: "emacs22.ch3Q87" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48945873/emacs22.ch3Q87 ** Attachment added: "emacs22.EUYBcB" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48945875/emacs22.EUYBcB ** Attachment added: "emacs22.kRBD9l" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48945876/emacs22.kRBD9l ** Attachment added: "emacs22.nIU2Y9" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48945877/emacs22.nIU2Y9 -- package emacs23 23.1+1-4ubuntu7 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/581127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
