Public bug reported: libcairo2 (version 1.8.10-2ubuntu1) evince (version 2.30.1) under Lucid (x86_64).
There is no problem with Okular (version 0.10.2) or Xpdf (version 3.02) when opening the highlighted PDF file. The highlighted section or sentence, text were visible. This bug was already reported to Evince upstream as bug # 619365. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=619365 According to the Evince developer it was a cairo/poppler bug that was already corrected. Evince need cairo >= 1.9.4 to render highlighted text. libcairo2 version 1.9.6-6 is already on Debian experimental repository.
