My notebook does not have a floppy drive, and the BIOS does not have an option to disable it, and I am affected by this bug too (or at least my desktop takes an eternity to load up). I didn't had problems before 10.04. This is reaaaaaaaaaaly annoing. It takes 2 minutes to open Gnome.
