I was reluctant to believe it would affect the outcome, but I can't deny the data. With feedback from ASUS, updated the BIOS to the latest version (1401) and initial tests with kernel build 2.6.34-999-generic are looking good. Will do wider tests tomorrow against UNR 9.10 (30-60 machines) and likely next week against UNE 10.04 to confirm.
