  Binary package hint: synaptic
  
- I activated compositing with fglrx 8.33.6 -> restarted X -> got mesa
- driver -> tried to launch settings/desktop-effects -> start -> crash
- "does not work" or so -> deactivated compositing -> restarted X -> did a
- few clicks -> then I saw the notification "a crash has happened" -> now
- I am submitting.

  Sorry, I am still wondering what the cause was. I closed synaptic long
  before the things I mentioned above, but there was no abnormal behavior
