I'm one of the people with an Intel chip (5100) in a Lenovo x200s. I'm sorry to say that compiling and installing wpa_supplicant 6.10 did not fix the problem. (But thank you also Nils.) I am basically unable to connect to WPA networks. I can usually connect to WEP, but the connection is slow and almost unusable. Following Nils I installed wicd and killed network-manager and nm-applet. That didn't help either. The wicd connection attempts fail with a "bad password" error.
This strikes me as a pretty serious issue. -- NetworkManager or wpa_supplicant timing out when connecting wireless https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/572777 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
