I have been unable to reproduce the problem.
I am not in the mood to reinstall windows, and delete a partition, and
then try to install again.
Just deleting the partition that I put mandriva on, doesn't produce the bug.
What is interesting, is when I install, during boot, I have a purple
background and a small 'ubuntu' in white.

When I was having the problem, I had a horizontal bar, with perhaps 20
vertical segments.
There was a solid bar that was inside the horizontal bar, and it went
back and forth, like a
windows xp boot screen. Totally different than the purple background
boot screen.

Perhaps I will totally reinstall windows, as there is nothing useful on
the notebook, and it will only take
a few hours, and then I might be able to give you enough to fix the problem.

thanks,
jeff
