OK, we'll go the direction of moving the cache around, even though I'm
sure comment 5 of bug bug 509168 presages support pain. As Leonard said
on IRC, at least we're at the beginning of an Ubuntu cycle.
I've asked Leonard to fit this in sometime over the next month or so.
