Public bug reported:

Hey guys,

Ubuntu Lucid 10.04
 This has been a bug in ubuntu for several years now
after install..boot drops to busybox because of my scsi drives.
I have posted this in the past and seems the only solution suggested is adding
a rediculous   rootdelay=40 to grub.
This has never occurred on any distribution I have used , installed on the same
system, in the paste 6 years...only ubuntu:)
  is there..hopefully...another solution other than that darn long
rootdelay=40???
thanks
p.s.... I also asked on the #ubuntu-devel channel with no response.. probably
because it was perceived as a "support" question instead of a persistent bug .
coz
