I got k3b to run with libburn (this time I'm absolutely sure). I downloaded the latest (0.3.4) libburn from http://libburnia.pykix.org/. I compiled it and installed in /usr/local/. I had to do "sudo chown root:cdrom /dev/sg1" to let me make a cd without being root. I tested cdrskin by running "cdrskin k3b_image.iso /dev/scd0" that worked. I added /usr/local/bin/cdrskin to the search path in k3b, and restarted k3b. I set cdrskin to be the default for cdrecord. Then I tried to burn a data cd. It didn't work at first, but I disabled overburn and write on the fly. Then it worked. I enabled on the fly, and it still worked.
I'm not quite sure why it didn't work at first, but it works now. -- SATA drive won't burn CD or DVD https://launchpad.net/bugs/62896 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
