The problem with the proposed approach (using sun-java*) is that there is *no* such package for lucid. To be honest, I understand that debian is for 'open source' software, and their support for application not matching *their* definition of 'open source' has always been flacky.
However, I can't image that I'm the only only who *needs* a JAVA6 (or even better a JAVA6 JDK). As there are no packages for lucid, and there is no easy way to make them on my own (as java-package *is* broken), the state-of-affairs is uncomfortable. I would like to see the java-package taken over and revived by ubuntu... -- Trying to install package from jdk-6u20-linux-x64.bin fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/576728 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
