@Desh Danz Thanks for the tip. Although I disagree about "KDE being more evolute than GNOME" which is just a plain opinion, I shall give Kubuntu a try for sure because I'm TIRED of waiting. I bought a brand new system a year ago for a HTPC and couldn't get 5.1 sound from it yet. I was excited to try the new 10.04 and I've been WAAAYYYY disapointed to see that this stupid bug is still there. (Stupid because I strongly believe it is not taken seriously enough)
This may not be the right place to ask but has ANYBODY been able to get clean 5.1 on stock ubuntu (pulseaudio)?
