Also try updating libimobiledevice.  The version in Lucid is currently
0.9.7-1ubuntu1, however version 1.0.0 was recently released.  See
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=ODA5Mg for more
information.

As you are on x86_64, note the entry in the Ubuntu changelog for
libimobiledevice which says:

libimobiledevice (0.9.7-1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * Move copying of documentation files to libimobiledevice-doc.install file.
    Fixes FTBFS on non-i386 buildd.
