Public bug reported: I have a Compaq Presario C796WU with Sierra Wireless USB301 on Telstra prepaid internet. I had originally installed 8.04, then upgraded to 9.04, and usb modem worked well. I have now done a clean install (except /home) of xubuntu 10.04. I am unable to enable wireless networking. I have added the mobile broadband connection via network manager, and have added the dns servers. When I plugin the usb modem, it says connected, but am unable to browse the net, or ping the dns servers added. No usb connection shows up when I run sudo lshw -C network, nor are there any extra /dev/usb* devices added when I plug it in.
I downloaded the xubuntu iso for amd64, and burnt to cd in Windows XP, and it has seemed to install correctly. I have searched the forums, and the internet for clues but have found nothing that helps. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Sierra 301 USB Telstra Prepaid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/578093 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
