I'm getting a similar issue with a particular USB stick connected. It
was having issues, so I tried to use gparted to wipe the partition and
create a new one, but creating a partition failed. Now the drive isn't
even seen by any computer I put it in. Ubuntu compters have gparted
crash on start with the following output in terminal:
