Hello Vassilis, The problem with sending the log files was that I hadn't spotted the 'attach files' the first time. Then I did and tried again only to get the message 'can't send an empty report'. Anyway, having downed the machine, the files are no longer available (I suppose). What I was doing was installing on a machine ith a small boot (6.8gb) drive and a larger (80gb) slave, and requested the partitioner to create and install Kubuntu on the 80gb drive in 66% of the space. Then it failed as reported. Since then I have downloaded the 31/5/06 install distro and tried using that rather than the disk from the magazine. That now gets me a lot of 'Buffer I/O error at sector xxxxxxx' problems. I'm not too competent and don't want to trash the data, so I haven't taken it any further. My delight with the magazine distro was that I could get my wireless card working with it - a first for any Linux. The full downloaded installer (kubunt0-6.06-alternate-i386) does not recognise any network hardware (well, it asks me if I want to use my firewire card, which I don't, but doesn't 'see' the belkin wireless card)
Hope that helps. Graham Platt On 8/4/06, Vassilis Pandis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello and thanks for filing this.
