Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: udev

Bug is similar (if not identical) to this one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329106

Also, when booting up and logging in, network manager cannot find the ethernet
router:
[   20.193288] r8169: eth0: link down
[   20.193503] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready

Problem is in attached logs from "May 8 20:41:36". It happened several
times before when I was using ubuntu 10.04 beta, but it has happened
again today, so I thought to report my findings. I noticed that
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules has eth0 and eth1 for the same
device.

Of course, after rebooting the computer, everything (and the Internet)
works fine.

Attached:
- /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
- /lib/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules
- /lib/udev/rules.d/75-net-description.rules
- dmesg command output (dmesg.log)
- /var/log/{debug,kern.log,messages,syslog}

$ cat /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
# This file maintains persistent names for network interfaces.
# See udev(7) for syntax.
#
# Entries are automatically added by the 75-persistent-net-generator.rules
# file; however you are also free to add your own entries.
