Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The logs contain the following lines:

    update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-22-generic
    gzip: stdout: No space left on device

It suggest that the space on /boot was not enough to continue the
installation of the new kernel. I am keeping this bug open since it
might be a bug with update-manager miscalculating the necessary disk
space before starting the update.
