** Description changed:

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

Please do not confuse with bug #569994, as there are some different
  stories.

I am using Acer Aspire 4745G laptop. There is no eject button on my DVD
drive. The eject hotkey button are located at the top right of the
laptop keyboard. The button does not work in Ubuntu. The "eject" command
  does eject the drive.

  I followed step-by-step troubleshooting in
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting for hotkeys
troubleshooting, under "Step-by-step Troubleshooting". I tested whether
there is ACPI event or KeyPress event for the eject button. But, the
result show that there is neither an KeyPress nor ACPI event. According
to step no. 6b, it may be a kernel bug. So, I reported this bug.

If you need more information, or have any comments, please leave it
  here.
