hey there in 1 GBit LAN it is about 9 MB/s with nautilus and 3 or 4 times faster using scp.
If you try this before copying $ sudo cpufreq-selector -g performance you'll get a slightly better performance using nautilus, but not that much. This was a test with karmic-karmic. After upgrading i'll test again with lucid-lucid. The problem seems to have something to do with the cpu as written before.
