Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub2
This is how my /etc/default/grub looks like: .. GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian` GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash clocksource=acpi_pm" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="vga=0x365" . . . # define my own splashscreen GRUB_MENU_PICTURE=cbg2.png export GRUB_MENU_PICTURE I have the grub_background.sh in place and see the image when selecting the boot options. (Don't think it has something to do with the disappearing of the kubuntu boot splash, but it is one thing I have done) The ubuntu boot splash was working fine when booting with grub. Now, instead of the boot splash, I see a very big bouncing cursor in the left top corne of the display. Then, immediately the login box is displayed. Doesn't take longer to that point than before.
