You don't have to connect an external monitor and change the kernel
line. Just doing one of them will do. I suggest that you try the first
option and see if the system will boot with a live cd. If it doesn't
then we probably don't have the same problem.

I still get the "acer-wmi: unsupported wmi-interface" line but after
that the system boots and seems to be fine. The workaround didn't work
for jack bakunin so it's no guarantee that it will work for you.
