I installed eee-acpi-utilities to be able to set my netbook to power saver mode on battery. This solved my overheating problem for the time being although temp still hovers at 50-52 degrees C on normal use. I know this is not a Ubuntu solution. There should be a way to control temperature from Ubuntu since hnetbook BIOS is unable to do so....
