** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: indicator-sound

Under a certain circumstance (explained later) the sound applet losses
its red color when playing a movie in a gstreamer player with the sound
  muted.

  Steps to reproduce:
  ‣ click over sound applet, then click on "Mute All"
  ‣ open a movie with a gstreamer player (like Totem)
- ‣ the applet turns red
+    ‣ the applet turns red
  ‣ go Full Screen (Totem: press F11)
  ‣ skip forward the movie (Totem: hold right arrow a couple of seconds)
  ‣ leave full screen (Totem: press F11)

  Expected behavior:
- The applet keeps red
+ The applet is still red

  Observed behavior:
  The applet isn't red anymore

  Additional Information:
I have tested this with Totem, Miro and Banshee with the same results.
However playing the movie with SMPlayer works as expected. Thats why I was
initially going to open this bug to some gstreamer package (like
gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio). Sorry if this doesn't belong to indicator-sound.

It also works as expected with sound files.
