Here's the reply I got from the author of read-edid:

This ID list is kept up-to-date by Microsoft. According to the latest 
release of this list, there is no ID for LG, and Goldstar is still GSM. It 
is likely that LG will continue using the GSM id, since the process 
to change is a bit strange. With the way the list is maintained, it is 
unlikely that the vendor name will ever be changed either.
