All, I have the same issue with my HP tm 2000 with nivida 6150
This is what I found: You will get this behavior if you upgrade the nvidia driver either from ubuntu "restricted drivers" or by downloading the latest driver from nvidia. I reinstalled my laptop and kept the driver that came with the installation and the issue disappeared. I am able to reboot and get to gnome while on battary. So it has to do with upgrading the video driver and something with power safe .. "just a guess". Also, while upgrading the driver with the latest from nvidia I get: THE DISTRIBUTION-PROVIDED PRE-INSTALL SCRIPT FAILED. UNABLE TO LOAD nvidia.ko the kernel module which is mentionaed in this link: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/572430 -- Computer boots to text when on battery power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/570233 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
