Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 10.04 my Lexmark X2630 multifunction printer is detected but
when I try to scan the program becomes unresponsive and I eventually
have to force quit. I've tried scanimage, xsane and simple-scan - all of
which have the same problem. The scanner worked fine in Ubuntu 9.04.

When I try to scan using any of the above programs from the Terminal I
get the unreadable output of: "Sݪ" and then the
program freezes.

Let me know if you need any more info.
