Daniel, Yeah, I too just found out that pulse was playing out to my imaginary 'unconnected' HDMI port.
Set the audio device back to 'Internal Audio' and everything's back to normal. *bliss* Looks like sometime during the upgrades from beta->RC->Final it flipped from internal to the hdmi. Anyway all's well that ends well.
