I can confirm that adding the firmware as per #2 will allow wireless to sometimes work on a Samsung N150 (rtl8192e wireless), on a fresh 10.04 installation. The wireless sometimes works fine, and sometimes just cuts out, or won't work at all. When it doesn't work, I get the same output as in #29 (ie. also "ERR in CPUcheck_firmware_ready()" + surrounding output).
