Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
Trying to run a dist upgrade from Karmic 9.10 --> Lucid 10.04 LTS. Upgrade process is failing with the following error: W:Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/lucid/Release Unable to find expected entry non-free/binary-i386/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?) , E:Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead. I did some searching and tried commenting out everything in /etc/apt/sources.list that might be third party or unsupported, but to no avail. I will try to attach dist upgrade logs and sources.list file (before and after my commenting out) as I saw was requested in similar bug reports. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dist karmic lucid upgrade -- karmic --> lucid dist upgrade fails; unable to download something https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/573234 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
