Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Tried to load 10.04 32b desktop release from Live CD (currently using
8.10)

1.The system is loaded from Live disc

2. immediatelly the gdu failure is detected (see report #568565 )

3. what is worse, after few seconds the whole system freezes with blured
screen, locked mouse, keyboard, no interaction apart from hard reboot is
installed. No interaction was done prior to this, just the system was loaded
from Live CD and this happens regularly after the short time (few seconds to
one minute). Switching off the visual efects will not help.
The camera taken frozen screen pic is attached, I cannot attach any log or file
content because the frozen PC will not let me to do anything and it happens few
seconds after the system is loaded

configuration:

Downloaded Ubuntu 10.04 from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
(32bit desktop, md5sum checked, CD checked before LiveCD load too)

MB Asus P5Q-EM with integrated sound and VGA
Intel Core 2 duo proc, 2 GB RAM

IMPORTANT NOTE: no such problem ever observed on currently used 8.10
release!!!

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
