I have seen a segfault with the distributed "sample.mpg" file for the karmic version on an x86_64/Ubuntu host.
I recall it was occuring on the transition to Page 4 of that presentation. I am in the habit of building MagicPoint from the latest snapshot sources, (I suggested a small patch to the author a while back that has not made it into the official source tree yet, although he said he was happy with it) though there is nothing new in the source since mgp_1.13a+upstream20090219, as far as I can tell. It is not clear to me from the above postings if there's a specific x86_64 component to this problem as seen by others who have posted? Interstingly, for me, I have NEVER seen any segfaults on an i386/Fedora platform, nor on a i386/NetBSD platform, nor on a i386/Xandros platform but do on x86_64/Ubuntu, for a number of source presentations. I have access to some other distros for the x86_64 host so will test MagicPoint there at some point.
