The xsane didn't work for my V350 either. I installed the AVASYS Corporation drivers / software and it worked like a charm on my AMD 64 Turion processor laptop running Ubuntu 9.04. http://www.avasys.jp/lx- bin2/linux_e/scan/DL1.do
