I'd really like to help further with this report, but company policy is to disallow h/w details, e.g. apport-collect data, to be sent to 3rd parties, on or off list. Sorry, it is frustrating. Not sure there is anything else I can do.
I've posted a workaround for this bug above, tested it and confirmed it works fine, and I'd suggest it is worthwhile leaving this report open to help others with the same problem who are searching the bug tracker find this work around. -- Vimicro Corp.
