Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

This report is the same as #457221 and #362689, I file it because these
other bug reports refer to previous versions of Ubuntu and this is still
present. An explanation by Martin-Éric Racine in #457221 says that this
is because cups-pdf was dropped as a dependency for ubuntu-desktop, but
should it be removed if the package is not obsolete?

This has happened to me also in the upgrade from Intrepid to Jaunty and
from Jaunty to Karmic.
