Hi Jeremy, the problem still persists on my laptop. And this is with the
latest kernel from 9.04 updates.

A small clarification: among the cdimages, which one are you asking me to
try? the 9.10 release or still the 9.04 one?
So I should install the mainstream kernel into the ubuntu running off the
cd?
