I've enabled apport permanently to generate crash reports. I've just recovered a crash report saved by apport into /var/crash. The file is attached.
This crash report was detected directly after an X-freeze, shortly after the next restart. The X-freeze on this occasion happened while trying to log on (I was still typing in the password to log on when it froze).
