You need to turn off composition before running kde System Settings Display and setting to dual monitor - anything but clone or off. In Karmic - composition disabled itself when switching to dual monitor and could not be re-enabled until you log out and in again. In Lucid, X crashes. But if you disable composition for opengl before going to dual monitor, it works. This time, when you exit dual monitor (return to clone), then enable composition, it works
I have a similar system: a intel GM945 based desktop system but with a DVI and a VGA port instead. -- lucid beta-2 X crashes with dual head configuration when opengl is enabled with intel GM945 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/559883 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
