This could be an issues with sensor amplitudes in the MB 5,2. To find out, please turn on bcm5974 debugging with
echo 9 | sudo tee /sys/module/bcm5974/parameters/debug and follow the printouts with tail -f /var/log/debug What is of interest is to find out how the pressure parameter (p) varies with different finger actions. Posting a portion of the log file here would help.
