Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: empathy
After setting up my Facebook chat account on Empathy, my contacts show
up. So far, so good. But whenever I try to rename one of them or
change their group, I get no result. I right-click on a contact, select
"edit" and try to make any changes. After clicking "close", which is
pretty much the only button available, the chances are not applied. For
MSN the changes take a few seconds to take effect and on my Gtalk
account they are practically immediate, but on Facebook I try
everything, from waiting forever to restarting empathy altogether, but
get no result.
Workaround: opening www.facebook.com and making changes from built-in
chat window.
