Public bug reported:

I'm getting a black screen when X tries to start (well, I guess that's when X
tries to start. It's happening just after the purple screen with 5 dots and
ubuntu text).
This first happened on reboot after I upgraded my 8.04 LTS to the latest RC on
a Dell Inspiron 510m.
I thought it was due to a bad upgrade. So I decided to do a fresh install with
an usb stick created with usb-creator from the RC iso. Same problem : blank
screen after the purple screen.

I'm adding the output of lspci and dmesg if this can help for debugging.
BTW, I tried to boot using the recovery mode, and this message displayed
several times just before the recovery menu displays : "mountall: Plymouth
command failed". I don't know if it's related to my problem.
