Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ttf-mikachan

Version: ttf-mikachan 9.1-1 on ubuntu karmic.

Wrong glyphs in the 4 mikachan fonts: "mikachan", "mikachan-P",
"mikachan-PB", "mikachan-PS", as displayed in gucharmap and OpenOffice
Writer.

The incorrect glyphs are:
U+005C REVERSE SOLIDUS: looks like a yen sign; should be a backslash
U+00A5 YEN SIGN: glyph is blank
U+00A7 SECTION SIGN: glyph is a cartoon drawing of a girl's face; should be a
section sign
U+00AE REGISTERED SIGN: glyph is blank
U+00DF LATIN SMALL LETTER SHARP S: glyph is blank

In addition, U+00B4 ACUTE ACCENT looks funny.

Note that the related characters U+FF3C FULLWIDTH REVERSE SOLIDUS and
U+FFE5 FULLWIDTH YEN SIGN are correct.

The backslash and yen errors probably resulted from a naive conversion
from an older Japanese character set, which did not distinguish
backslash and yen characters.
