It is not a firefox bug, I never indicated that it was, it is a bug with the panel containing the clock on the top of the screen.
I found a fix. I changed the orientation of the panel to bottom, and it started working again. I then put it back to top and it is still working. I have not rebooted, so I do not know if it will freeze again on bootup.
