Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

Ubuntu 9.10
I cannot print from applications, for instance evince or openoffice.org, but I
can print from the command line or from the test page from System-> Printing.
This started happening suddenly, I've been printing without any problems since
at least Hardy.

The printer is an HP Laserjet 3330, installed with the normal drivers
and hp utilities (and as I said, no issues for a lot of different
versions of Ubuntu).

I tried
sudo aa-complain cupsd
but the problem persists. At the end of the dmesg command I get (after trying
to print from evince):

[  604.774541] type=1503 audit(1271688746.071:66): operation="exec" pid=7667
parent=6584 profile="/usr/bin/evince" requested_mask="::x" denied_mask="::x"
