I've just updated the linux-generic package to 2.6.20.12.8 and I've
removed the modules I put in /etc/initramfs-tools/modules file... then
rebooted the PC and everything works like a charm :)

P.S.: I am still using the 2.6.20-11.18-generic kernel image.

I'll upgrade the kernel image to 2.6.20-12.19 right now and see if it
still works.
