I'm marking this bug as confirmed as it's clearly experienced by lots of
people.  It can also be reproduced easily.  If you have the "HP System
Tray Service" service enabled in your start-up applications or if you
run the hp-systray application manually, you get the error after a
minute or so.  It does not appear to matter if the printer is on-line or
off-line.  When run from the command line, this is the output:

Sometimes the tool does not cause the errior when run from the command
line until you exit the tool.
